Privacy
How clipboard data is handled
Clipboard contents are often sensitive. ClipSpan defaults to local use and makes cloud sync optional.

Is clipboard data end-to-end encrypted?
On the optional account/relay path, payloads and credential vaults are end-to-end encrypted. Servers are not meant to read clipboard plaintext.

Can it work without a cloud service?
Yes. Local-only LAN pairing and sync remain available. Account mode is optional.

Is history stored on-device?
Yes. History lives on your devices. Cloud history backup, when used, is encrypted under keys your clients hold.
Defaults and choices
- Synchronization is optional. Manual send is a normal workflow.
- Password fields on Android keep sync actions disabled.
- You choose whether to enable account sync at all.
- Self-hosted account and relay setups are supported in the architecture for people who want them.
